The central panel shows the moment Jesus was captured in the Garden of Gethsamene (spelling?). The thin, childish Judas is seen reaching up to reach Jesus with the kiss of betrayal.
In trying to protect Jesus, Peter has just, or is just about to cut off the servant’s ear. Jesus, ever the peacemaker, would magically repair the severed organ.
